Who Are We?

Unlike some travel insurance products, all Alpha Travel Insurance policies have been designed by specialists; Alpha Travel Insurance and alphatravelinsurance.co.uk are trading names of and are underwritten by tifgroup (formally Travel Insurance Facilities Plc), whose directors have decades of combined experience in providing first class travel insurance products. tifgroup underwrites policies on behalf of the insurer https://www.alphatravelinsurance.co.uk/our-insurer/.

Alpha Travel Insurance originally started back in 2006 as a range of 'Alpha, Bravo and Charlie' backpacker products on our sister site Holidaysafe. In October 2012, we popped the champagne corks and launched our own website at alphatravelinsurance.co.uk (wahoo!).

Our Offices

As of 1st September 2015, Alpha HQ is located at 1 Tower View, Kings Hill in Kent.

Our Customer Promise

Our aim is to provide innovative and cost-effective travel insurance for everyone travelling abroad, whether it is for a two-week sunshine break or a 12 month trip around the world. We appreciate that price is very important when choosing a travel insurance policy; however, we do not believe customers should sacrifice elements of cover in return for a lower premium.

At Alpha, we are also aware that we have to provide the 'whole package'; that means that not only must the price be competitive, but the cover provided should be fit for purpose, the policy terms & conditions reasonable and easily understood and, most importantly of all, the claims process must be straight forward, fair, and with prompt settlement.

Alongside our customer promise, we believe that you, the customer, are the driving force of Alpha Travel Insurance. We regularly encourage our customers to share feedback about their experience with us, both positive and negative, so that we can continually improve both our services and products.

In order to ensure that our customer service is maintained to the highest standards, we work with specialist teams across all aspects of your cover. From our customer service team, based in Kings Hill, to our Claims and Assistance teams who are based with our insurer.

Our Products

Our easy-to-use website provides information that will help you plan your trip and choose the policy that is right for you. We currently have four travel insurance products to choose from:

Single Trip
Available for trips up to 94 days in duration, an Alpha Single Trip policy is perfect for many standard trips including a summer holiday, romantic getaway or short break.
Multi-Trip
If you make two or more trips within a 12 month period, an Alpha Multi Trip policy is the most cost-effective way to buy travel insurance. Cover is provided for the entire year and allows you to make an unlimited number of trips, provided each one lasts no longer than 31 days.
Long Stay
An Alpha Long Stay policy is the ideal choice if you're planning a gap year, sabbatical or extended trip abroad, with cover for up to 18 months of travel.
Winter Sports
The Alpha Winter sports is a specialist policy for Winter based activities such as skiing and snowboarding, that provides cover for hired or owned equipment, lost or stolen lift passes and much more.

You can save money on your policy by deciding how much you want to contribute to any claim that you make (this is known in insurance jargon as the policy excess). Whichever product option you choose, Alpha Travel Insurance provides the same cover levels regardless of your policy excess. The more you are prepared to contribute, the lower your premium becomes.

Depending on your choice of excess, either £175, £150, £100, £75 or £50 or £0, each product is aptly named to reflect this excess: Alpha 175, Alpha 150, Alpha 100, Alpha 75, Alpha 50 or Alpha Zero.
